Why WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is one of the world’s most popular messaging platforms globally. This one-way broadcast platform allows you to privately follow Fingal County Council to receive updates, and users can opt in or out at any time. We hope that our WhatsApp channel will enhance our communication channels making it easier for residents to receive messages directly from us and provide another convenient and accessible way for you to stay informed.

What can I expect to see?

Follow us to get the latest community news, events, important information and more delivered straight to your phone. Although WhatsApp channels are a one-way platform, you can respond using an emoji.

What it isn’t

WhatsApp channels are different and separate to your Chats in the app. Following our WhatsApp channel does not mean that we will feature in your list of personal Chats, but instead our updates will appear in the Updates tab in the app. Your profile name, photo and mobile phone number are kept hidden and secure, and not in view to us or other followers.

How can I join your WhatsApp channel?

Joining is easy, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Click this link
  2. Once the channel opens, click ‘Follow’ in the top right
  3. Make sure you click the bell icon in the top right to turn on notifications, so you never miss an update
