Fingal County Council has issued a Prior Warning Notice for Velvet Strand, Portmarnock for 4 to 7 days. Bathers are advised of the possibility of an increase in the levels of bacteria in the bathing water over the coming days due to expected heavy rainfall.

Fingal County Council, in partnership with Fingal Dublin Chamber and An Garda Síochána, has launched an initiative in Swords that will allow members of the public to confidentially report incidents that might need Garda intervention.
The outgoing Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Eoghan O’Brien, has honoured individuals and groups who assisted Fingal County Council through the COVID-19 Community Call Response Forum by presenting them with Certificates of Appreciation.
Please be advised that applications for DAC (Disability Access Certificates), FSC (Fire Safety Certificates) and Dispensation/Relaxation submissions will be moving online through the BCMS in the coming weeks. .
A year on from the launch of the Our Balbriggan Rejuvenation Plan, the transformation of Ireland’s youngest town is taking shape, with substantial progress announced across a range of objectives.
Balbriggan has been chosen as Ireland’s first town to be named as a Smart District in a move that will put it at the cutting edge of smart projects to improve services, create jobs and build a better community.
As part of the #RestartFingal initiative to help businesses across the county get back up and running, Fingal County Council is inviting applications from those businesses interested in expanding into the public realm by placing street furniture outside their premises.
Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
