Playing Pitches Provision

Sport, Recreation and Leisure

Fingal County Council provides 172 playing facilities across the county, consisting of over 160 grass playing pitches for Soccer, GAA and Rugby, All-Weather Facilities, Cricket pitches, and a Baseball area at Portmarnock.

Playing pitches are monitored on a weekly basis during the playing season to assess if they are suitable for use, and pitches may be called “OFF”  or declared unplayable if weather conditions have caused them damage or if maintenance works such as drainage, topdressing, re-seeding or re-turfing are required to make them playable.  During the playing season, a Pitch Playability Report is updated each Friday afternoon
